All episodes of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2 have finally come out, and fans don’t have to wait long for the next installment. Between Seasons 1 and 2, Frieren had a two-year wait period, and its episode count dropped from 28 to 10. However, its reception amongst fans remains steady, with Season 2 earning a solid 81% audience score. Now, with all Season 2 episodes finally out, not only does Frieren Season 3 have a release window, but we also know what the season will be about.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is an anime adaptation of Kanehito Yamada‘s ongoing manga of the same name. It tells the story of Frieren (Atsumi Tanezaki), an elf mage who decides to embark on a journey to Aureole, in hopes of speaking to her old party member, Himmel (Nobuhiko Okamoto), years after his death. Season 2 covers the start of Frieren and her party’s journey towards the Northern Plateau as they continue on their long adventure. That journey will continue once Frieren returns for Season 3.
Following the Season 2 finale of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, it was announced via Crunchyroll and the official Frieren anime social media that Season 3 is scheduled to come out in October 2027. And though no specific release date has been set within the month, the release teaser featured an image of Macht, a demon who’s also part of the Seven Sages of Destruction. This means that Frieren Season 3 will be adapting “The Golden Land Arc.” Season 2 also hints at this upcoming story arc, teasing details about this powerful demon.

What To Watch While Waiting For ‘Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 3’?
With over a year and a half wait for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End to return, there are a handful of shows with similar premises and themes worth watching before Season 3 comes out. The first recommendation is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. The anime adaptation premiered in 2019, and all four seasons are available to stream on Crunchyroll. The show follows Tanjiro Kamado (Zach Aguilar), who trains to become a demon slayer after his family is killed by demons, with only he and his sister surviving, though his sister has been turned into a demon.
Another show worth watching, similar to Frieren and still ongoing, is Delicious in Dungeon, which is available on Netflix. This series follows Laios (Damien Haas) and his party as they venture to a dungeon to save his sister. The first season contains 24 episodes, and Season 2 is currently in production. Lastly, if you like Frieren, you may enjoy Solo Leveling. Described as its anime rival, Solo Leveling is a high fantasy series that follows Sung Jinwoo (Aleks Le), a level E hunter who, after a near-death experience, is chosen to level up his strength, thus turning him into South Korea’s 10th S-Rank Hunter. Both Seasons 1 and 2 have been released, and a Netflix live-action adaptation is in the works.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 3 is scheduled for release in October 2027. In the meantime, you can stream all of Season 1 and 2 on Crunchyroll. Follow Collider for more updates.
