Hubballi, Karnataka – A serious case of systematic sexual exploitation and ‘Love Jihad’ operating out of a local fitness gym has sent shockwaves across Karnataka, prompting the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti’s (HJS) women’s branch, ‘Ranaragini’, to demand an immediate National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigation.
Addressing a press conference at the Hubballi Press Club, Smt. Bhavya Gowda, a representative of Ranaragini, stated that the case involves organised exploitation. She identified Sameer Mulla and his sister Taiseem Mulla as key accused in the matter.

How the Racket Operated
At a press conference in Hubballi, Bhavya Gowda explained how the accused trapped victims. Sameer Mulla, who operated the gym, would feign friendship with Hindu girls, drug their drinks, and commit sexual assault.
To keep the girls quiet and force them to change their religion, Mulla recorded private photos and videos to blackmail them. His sister, Taiseem Mulla, reportedly played a key role by introducing girls to him and tricking them into the trap.
During the police investigation, several semi-nude photos of various girls were recovered from Sameer Mulla’s mobile phone. More victims are now coming forward. Another woman has alleged that Sameer used her private videos to extort lakhs of rupees, using Hindu girls as “ATMs” to fund his luxury lifestyle.
The gravity of the situation is further highlighted by the fact that another youth from the same gym was recently arrested for a similar crime.

The Bhavya Gowda and delegation met with Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar to submit a memorandum seekingstringent action. They also visited the residence of the victim to express support and gather details from her family. The delegation included High Court Advocate Shakuntala Shetty, SSK Samaj leader Sou. Neeta Metrani, Ranaragini Gadag Coordinator Sou. Rani Chandavari, HJS State Coordinator Shri Guruprasad Gowda, and Hindu leader Shri Tejas Gowda.

Key Demands
- Sou. Rani Chandavari demanded that gyms must appoint female trainers and urged the government to provide security to the victim’s family, who are currently under immense pressure.
- Sou. Neeta Metrani called upon Hindu girls to stay vigilant as Love Jihad cases are on the rise.
Advocate Shakuntala Shetty outlined the legal demands submitted to the Commissioner:
- A comprehensive investigation into Sameer Mulla, Taiseem Mulla, and the entire gym network.
- Forensic audit of all digital devices to uncover links to the “Shaheen Gang” and other victims.
- Handing the case over to the NIA or forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) following a “Zero Tolerance” policy, similar to the measures taken in Uttar Pradesh.
- Invoking strict laws including KCOCA, POCSO, rape, extortion, IT Act, and the Karnataka Anti-Conversion Act.
- Trial via a Fast-Track Court to ensure speedy justice.
- Immediate intervention by the State Women’s Commission to ensure the victim’s privacy and safety.
