According to rumours, Apple’s foldable iPhone will unveil later this year. It’s expected to bring a wide inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
A new post from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, reveals the software experience on Apple’s upcoming foldable. The upcoming iPhone Fold will come with many iOS enhancements and multitasking features inspired by iPadOS.

It’s also expected that the inner display of the foldable will support iPad-like layouts as well as side-by-side apps. The report further states that the inner screen will be about the same size as an iPad mini. This, of course, prompts Apple to develop new iOS app layouts and navigation elements like iPad-style sidebars.
Nevertheless, the device won’t support windowed multitasking like the iPad. Also, it won’t run iPad apps. Despite the larger display and tablet-style interface, the foldable will still run iOS and will feature simpler multitasking elements rather than the full desktop-like interface seen in iPadOS 26.
Moreover, the iPhone Fold will come with a new display technology made to significantly reduce the crease on the inner screen while also enhancing durability. It’s expected to feature a hole-punch camera on the cover display.
In addition to that, the foldable is said to feature the following: a dual rear camera setup, a hole-punch camera on the inner display, and a Touch ID sensor integrated into the power button. According to one rumour, Apple is likely to brand its first foldable as the iPhone Ultra.
