Action-RPG classic Sacred 2 is getting a facelift which includes HD graphics, better UI, and gameplay improvements. Moreover, THQ Nordic has confirmed it’s coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as PC.
Fans of the underrated RPG series had been quite vocal about the potential for substantial remasters of the first two games for years, so this announcement (straight from THQ Nordic’s Digital Showcase 2025) should be celebrated by most diehards of the genre. You can watch the announcement trailer below:
This first look itself does a pretty solid job of highlighting what’s new (we think controller support is a highlight) in this refreshed version of the 2008 classic, but the press release goes through all the key points even more concisely:
“Sacred 2 Remaster brings the iconic action RPG back to life with enhanced visuals, improved combat, and full modern support. Step into the war-torn world of Ancaria, where T-Energy has turned from blessing to curse, and choose one of six unique heroes to shape the realm’s fate. Featuring all original expansions, a revamped UI, full controller support, and countless quests across a vast open world, this remaster offers both longtime fans and new players a chance to rediscover a fantasy classic — bigger, better, and bolder than ever.”
Sacred 2 Remaster is being developed by Jumpgate AB and SparklingBit. So far, it’s only confirmed to hit the current Xbox and PlayStation consoles on top of PC (Steam). A tentative release window hasn’t been shared yet.
