We suppose it was only a matter of time before it happened—Samsung has just discreetly ended its software support for the Galaxy S21 series, which includes the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra. This change was spotted within the company’s own support pages, which no longer lists the three devices.

This goes for monthly and quarterly software updates, which ended a while back. In fact, one of Samsung’s last big updates for the S21 series was rolled out a few years back, which mainly focused on addressing unwanted reboot issues for users. Aside from security patches, the devices will no longer get any Android version upgrades, which was to be expected.

As for the Galaxy S21 FE, the device will still receive quarterly security updates alongside the S22 series phones, as it launched several months after the mainline S21 phones. The company extended its software update support up to seven years starting in January 2024, although it does clarify that these updates might vary based on carriers, regions, and markets.
