Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Tab A11 in India, an entry-level tablet that comes with a big upgrade: a 90Hz refresh rate display. The tablet was listed last week on the UAE site, but India is now one of the first big markets to get it. With this release, all Samsung tablets now support high refresh rate screens.

An upgrade over the Galaxy Tab A9

The Galaxy Tab A11 is not a complete redesign. It keeps the same look and size as the Galaxy Tab A9 from 2023. The big change is the screen. The 8.7-inch LCD panel now refreshes at 90Hz, making scrolling, animations, and games feel smoother. The resolution stays at HD+ (1,340 x 800), which is enough for basic use but not as sharp as higher-end models.

Better cameras for everyday use

Samsung also improved the cameras. The front camera is now 5 megapixels, a big jump from the A9’s 2 megapixels. Video calls and selfies should look clearer. On the back, the tablet has an 8 megapixel camera with autofocus. Both cameras can record Full HD (1080p) video at 30fps, which is fine for school projects or casual clips.

Hardware and storage options

Inside, the tablet runs on the MediaTek Helio G99 processor, the same chip as the A9. It may not be a performance beast, but it is solid for streaming, browsing, and light gaming. Samsung offers two versions:
  • 4GB RAM with 64GB storage
  • 8GB RAM with 128GB storage

Both come with a microSD slot that supports cards up to 2TB.

Software and updates

The Tab A11 ships with Samsung One UI 7.0 based on Android 15. Samsung promises seven years of major Android updates and security patches, taking the tablet all the way to Android 22. That is rare for an entry-level device and will matter to buyers who want a tablet that lasts.

Connectivity and battery life

The tablet comes in Wi-Fi only and 4G LTE versions. It also supports Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C, and even a 3.5mm headphone jack. The LTE model adds GPS and other navigation systems. Powering everything is a 5,100mAh battery with 15W charging.

Price and availability in India

  • 4GB + 64GB Wi-Fi version: 12,999 INR (about $146)
  • 4GB + 64GB Wi-Fi + LTE version: 15,999 INR (about $180)
  • 8GB + 128GB Wi-Fi version: 17,999 INR (about $203)
  • 8GB + 128GB Wi-Fi + LTE version: 20,999 INR (about $267)

Buyers using selected bank cards can also get an instant discount of 1,000 INR (about $11).

Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A11 is not flashy, but it brings smoother screens and long-term updates to the budget range. For students, casual users, and families, it might be the right mix of price and features.
