Two weeks back, Samsung rolled out the first software update for its newest Galaxy S26 series. It included the February 2026 update and fixed 36 security issues from the previous version of the OS. The phones were expected to receive another update with the March 2026 security patch later this month. Before that, Samsung already pushed a new update to the Galaxy S26 Ultra in China, but stopped it almost immediately.

According to Ice Universe on X, on March 20, Samsung released a software update for the Galaxy S26 Ultra in China. This carried firmware version S9480ZCU1AZCG and weighed 982.88MB in size. The changelog mentioned that the update brought improvements to system stability and reliability.
Reports state that Samsung halted it shortly after rolling it out. There hasn’t been any explanation from Samsung regarding the pause, but it will likely be due to emergency issues it noticed after it was released.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra update may soon resume rollout
It’s expected that Samsung will resume the rollout once it resolves the issues that caused the pause. The changelog shows that it’s still on the February 2026 security patch.
