A new version of Bixby has been unveiled by Samsung. The company turned it into a conversational AI agent. It’s now available on devices running One UI 8.5 Beta. According to Samsung, it’s a digital assistant that’s powered by AI.
The new upgrade of Bixby to a conversational AI agent, was first announced a few weeks ago. The AI-powered digital assistant is now more intuitive and more capable. You can ask Bixby almost any question as it integrates with Perplexity for web search and to answer your questions.
It offers you the opportunity to access up-to-date information within Bixby’s native interface. Without switching to a separate app or web browser, you can achieve this comfortably.
It comes with the redesigned user interface. This also makes it easier for you to review your previous conversations with Bixby. It shows all conversation threads in the menu on the left side of the screen, making it similar to ChatGPT and Gemini.
Another feature of this upgrade is that Bixby can also control and navigate Galaxy smartphones using natural language commands. To achieve this, you don’t need to know the exact name of a feature or setting on your device. All you need to do is simply describe what you want to do. Bixby takes the appropriate action as it understands the meaning. An example of this is that Bixby will automatically enable the ‘Keep Screen On While Viewing’ setting on a Galaxy S25 (when you say to it: “I don’t want the screen to time out while I’m still looking at it”).
Presently, the new upgrade of Bixby is available to One UI 8.5 Beta Programme participants in Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US. As a part of the stable One UI 8.5 update, it will still be available to compatible Galaxy phones and tablets in additional markets in the future.
