Second One UI 8.5 beta update gets to the Galaxy S24 (US)

The South Korean company, Samsung, has opened the One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) beta Programme for the Galaxy S24 series. It began last month. Now, the company has also released the second beta version of the new software for it.

It seems Samsung is rolling it out in India and South Korea. The update for India is 897.11MB in size and comes with the firmware version S92xBXXU5ZZD5.

Furthermore, the One UI 8.5 Beta 2 for the Galaxy S24 series features the same nine changes that the One UI 8.5 Beta 9 for the Galaxy S25 series offers, as well as the April 2026 security patch, which fixes 47 security vulnerabilities. It brings the following nine changes as listed below.

  1. Improved issue where the screen flickers and colours are distorted when changing zoom level during dual recording;
  2. Improved issue where Bluetooth connection disconnects and reconnects periodically;
  3. Support for AirDrop connection with Apple devices;
  4. Applied 3 new camera filters (Classic Film, Pop Film, Blanc);
  5. Improved issue where the lock screen briefly appeared during an incoming call before transitioning to the call screen;
  6. Improved issue where the top part of the notification card was cut off;
  7. Improved issue where AOD time information was displayed incorrectly in certain situations;
  8. Improved stuttering issue when entering gallery albums under certain conditions;
  9. Improved notification card UI when the device is rotated.

You can get the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and then install.
