While the last couple of years haven’t been the kindest to Sonos, it looks like the company is determined to win back customers with its latest speakers, the Sonos Play and Sonos Era 100 SL. Announced just recently, the two speakers come priced at $299 and $189, respectively. Chris Kallai, VP of Product Creation at Sonos comments:

We believe the first speaker you bring home should sound complete on its own, and become even better as your Sonos system grows. Sonos Play and Era 100 SL offer two distinct ways to shape a listening experience that fits how people actually live, while making it simple to add new rooms, new moments, and new possibilities over time.

Available in black and white, the Sonos Play is designed as a portable option with a rechargeable battery that according to Sonos can last for up to 24 hours of playback time. Wrapped up in an IP67-rated shell, the Play supports connectivity over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, as well as physical line-in inputs; you can also control the speaker using the Sonos app, physical button controls, or hands-free voice commands.

Meanwhile, the Sonos Era 100 SL is more of a stationary device intended for indoor listening sessions, or even as an additional component for your home media setup. It does support stereo playback as well as Sonos app controls and Trueplay for iOS, with connectivity via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, as well as physical line-in inputs. While it doesn’t come with a rechargeable battery, Sonos has included a six-feet power cable which does make it easier to place around your home.
