The marketing countdown for Dhurandhar: The Revenge hit an unexpected pause right when fans were gearing up for a big digital drop. After chatter around a March 3 trailer release picked up steam, the plan was suddenly rolled back, prompting fresh curiosity around what changed behind the scenes and why a project of this scale would shift dates at the eleventh hour.
The move is especially crucial because Dhurandhar: The Revenge is positioned as a major March 2026 theatrical event and its promotional campaign is now entering the final stretch. With the film set for a March 19, 2026 release, the trailer timing is not just a marketing beat, it is the final full showcase before the box office clash ahead.
Why The March 3 Trailer Plan Was Dropped
The trailer release that was being lined up for March 3 was not a random date. It was genuinely planned by the team, but the makers later reconsidered after being informed that March 3 coincided with a Chandra Grahan. The lunar eclipse window was said to run from 9:39 am to 6:46 pm, and since trailers are typically unveiled around noon, the planned timing would have fallen within that period. With the eclipse considered inauspicious for new beginnings in many traditions, the team decided to postpone the launch.
This is not the first time the trailer strategy has been reworked. A separate plan to host a trailer launch event on March 5 at Mumbai’s Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre was also explored earlier, before the team pivoted to a digital-first rollout. Now, with March 3 off the table, the trailer is expected to arrive digitally on either March 5 or March 6, without a physical event.
