Revered as the abode of the fierce guardian deity Karimpan Kavu Ugramoorthi, this festival is a profound spiritual observance honoring the protector of the land and its people.

Organized by the Karimpan Kavu Devaswom Trust (Reg. No. A 538/2008), located at Puliyoor P.O., Chengannur, the annual celebration will be held from February 15 to February 24, 2026 (Malayalam Era 1201, Kumbham 03 to 12). Devotees from near and far gather during this sacred period to witness rituals, offerings, and traditional temple arts that define Kerala’s vibrant devotional heritage.


Festival Highlights

Thrikodiyettu – February 15, 2026

The Thiru Utsavam commences with the auspicious Thrikodiyettu (flag hoisting ceremony) on Sunday, February 15, 2026. This sacred ritual marks the formal beginning of the festival, symbolizing divine invitation and the descent of spiritual energy into the temple premises. Accompanied by traditional percussion and Vedic chants, the ceremony sets a powerful devotional tone for the days ahead.


Nadappanthal Samarpanam

One of the significant offerings during the festival is the Nadappanthal Samarpanam, where devotees ceremonially dedicate decorative structures and floral adornments to the deity. This offering signifies gratitude, devotion, and the collective participation of the community in honoring Ugramoorthi.


Kolam Thullal – A Sacred Art Form
