TV’s Best Sci-Fi Horror Series Returns With a Twisted First Look at Season 4 [Exclusive]

from feature

It’s almost time to return to the town at last. After the longest wait between seasons to date, one of the most acclaimed sci-fi horror series on television, From, is set to premiere its fourth outing on MGM+ in less than two months. With its return comes a lot of questions to answer from a brutal Season 3 finale that offered some clues that may be key to freeing everyone from their nightmare, introduced the puppeteer behind the mysterious town, and killed off one of its most important residents. While we can’t give away any answers yet, we can, however, share a new image from the upcoming premiere as part of Collider’s Exclusive Preview series for spring television and film releases. It gathers Boyd (Harold Perrineau), Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno), and Jade (David Alpay) together, though given their horrified expressions, it’s not for a good reason.

Between the previous finale and the recent teaser, the theme of Season 4 is “Knowledge comes at a cost.” It was Tabitha’s initial pursuit of knowledge and recent revelation about the children with Jade that ultimately led the chilling Man in the Yellow Suit (Douglas E. Hughes) to kill her husband Jim (Eion Bailey) in the closing moments of Season 3 as both a consequence and a warning of what happens when the residents try to uncover the town’s dark secrets. Although the majority of From has been set inside the cursed locale that traps all who enter its boundaries, each time the residents have seemingly gotten closer to the answers they seek, they’re presented with new horrors and more questions that keep escape still well outside their reach. With the big bad Man in Yellow now in play, new doors are about to open in Season 4 that will make some of the remaining survivors wish they were kept closed once they’re presented with what lies beyond.

Among the other things left to address from Season 3 is Fatima’s (Pegah Ghafoori) unnatural pregnancy. The finale finally saw her give birth in the root cellar, where her larval-like offspring is used in a ritual to bring back the Smiley Creature after its death in Season 2. There’s also the question of whether Boyd can continue holding the town together in his unraveling mental and physical state, particularly after being put through the wringer last time around. After three seasons of ever-escalating terrors, MGM+’s most-viewed series ever will most assuredly test its residents’ limits once more with fresh horrors from the mind of creator John Griffin. Expectations will be high after the last run earned some of the strongest reviews of the series yet, including a 9/10 from Collider’s Jasneet Singh.

Who Else Will Reside in the Town in ‘From’ Season 4?
