Fan-favorite LoL squad Los Ratones may skip out on 2025’s EMEA Masters, and it all comes down to content over competition.
In a July 31, 2025 stream, Los Ratones coach Marc “Caedrel” Lamont revealed that his LoL team Los Ratones may choose to forfeit the Summer Split of EMEA Masters due to its timing conflict with Worlds. The playoffs segments of EMEA Masters and NLC both conflict with the semi-finals of Worlds 2025, which has a massive opportunity cost for a content-focused team. At the same time, the decision to not compete in EMEA Masters Summer could mean that Los Ratones is planning a trip to China to celebrate the event.
In his stream, Caedrel explains that the finals of EMEA Masters is set for November 2. These dates both line up with the semi-finals of Worlds. As a team primarily focused on making content, Los Ratones has a major opportunity cost to attending those events. They’d have to focus on researching opponents and keeping in form over making content about Worlds.
Will Los Ratones attend Worlds 2025?
Los Ratones has not confirmed a Worlds 2025 trip, but coach Caedrel’s statements imply a trip to China in November.
In his stream statement, Caedrel stressed that the finals of EMEA Masters Summer coincide with Worlds 2025. Since Los Ratones is primarily focused on creating content rather than winning tournaments, they’d have to pick which one to focus on. However, if the players were planning on making content for Worlds, they could focus on that while sandbagging in the actual tournament. They could log on, play the games with zero prep, and go back to streaming Worlds.

With the team demonstrating its willingness to back out entirely, it implies that the squad is planning a group trip. If the players travel to Worlds, they can stream from China and make content while also streaming solo queue from the most competitive player pool in League of Legends history.
When it comes to making content or winning competition, Los Ratones has always picked the former over the latter. With EMEA Masters Summer conflict with Worlds, the team will once again have to pick one over the other.
