A war is brewing in the Wastelands, and Fallout season three is going to push the conflict to new horizons. In the wake of season two, the hit Amazon TV series is busier than ever as Caesar’s Legion is gunning for the Mojave Desert. With war facing New Vegas, Fallout has set up Cooper Howard’s long-awaited trip to Colorado as he searches for his family. In the meantime, a mysterious organization known as the Enclave is moving through the shadows, leaving Lucy and her former neighbors in Vault 33 more vulnerable than ever. When Fallout season three goes live, the show is going to thrill audiences with tons of action, but it would be amiss to overlook several of the franchise’s most important characters.
So far, Fallout has done a great job nodding to its roots, but video game lovers always want more. From easter eggs to blink-and-miss-it cameos, Fallout season three has a huge opportunity to wow netizens. After all, season three will explore a lot of uncharted territory between its focus on New Vegas’ underbelly and the Enclave. The show’s comeback will give Fallout a perfect platform to introduce everything from Super Mutants to Brotherhood of Steel icons. It would be a shame to let a few good character cameos go to waste.
Below, ScreenRant has pulled together 10 perfect Fallout characters that would fit in season three when it goes live. From fan-favorite NPCs to iconic allies, Fallout could bring some major players to life in season three, so here’s to hoping Amazon finds a way to make these cameos happen.
The Burned Man
If Fallout season three wants to bring the franchise’s best redemption story to life, then it has no choice but to introduce The Burned Man. The character would tie in to the show’s focus on Caesar’s Legion and show how the army’s co-founder survived his brutal execution. The Burned Man, who fans know as Joshua Graham, holds great guilt for his role in bringing Caesar to power. Lying low in Zion Canyon, the former soldier stays to himself as he watches the Legion from afar. Wracked with guilt, The Burned Man would be a great bridge for Lucy as his redemption story would show our hero there is still some hope in the Wasteland.
Veronica Santangelo
The Brotherhood of Steel is a lot to handle, but characters like Veronica Santangelo make the organization worth the trouble. The fan-favorite NPC acts as a scribe for the army, and though she was once very dedicated to the brotherhood, those days have passed. Veronica is a disillusioned part of the group, a truth that Lucy can relate to given her complicated history with Vault 33. In many ways, Veronica could join Fallout season three as the Brotherhood’s own version of Lucy as the hero wishes to see the group reform rather than self-destruct. And as the army heads towards New Vegas, time is running short for Fallout to introduce Veronica before all-out war breaks out.
Boone
Fallout loves a good redemption story, and Boone is one of the franchise’s best examples of reform. Riddled by loss and regret, Boone brings a face to the New California Republic as he’s one of the group’s most famous veterans. The former sniper can show how the NCR fell apart in the wake of the Bitter Springs Massacre, giving Lucy some key information about the region and its impending conflict. Boone would also be a great mirror to Cooper Howard given the tragedies involving their families, and Boone’s gruff personality would play well with the Ghoul’s self-serving schemes.
Marcus
Fallout has yet to bring one of the video game’s key characters into a lead role, but that could all change in season three with Marcus. After all, there is no character better suited to bridge the gaps spanning the Wasteland. Marcus is not only one of the franchise’s most famous Super Mutants, but he is a first-generation mutant who once served the Master. The man is a primary source for Wasteland history, so he can give unprecedented access to the Enclave’s motives. As Lucy and the Ghoul encounter the Enclave moving forward, their understanding of the organization will differ greatly from the one Marcus can pass along. So if this Super Mutant doesn’t appear in season three, then Fallout will be worse for it.
Frank Horrigan
When it comes to villains, Fallout has kept a tight focus on Lucy’s father and the executives behind Vault-Tec. However, the show’s third season will take evil to new heights if it brings Frank Horrigan to life. The villain is absolutely terrifying and embodies the dangers of the Enclave. The 12-foot-tall Super Mutant is considered the Enclave’s final solution for a reason, and it isn’t because he loves a good peace talk. Frank embodies the group’s extremist ideology with brutal precision, and Fallout season three couldn’t find a more upsetting foe for characters like Maximus to face.
Roger Maxson
Amazon first brought the Brotherhood of Steel to Fallout in season one, but the organization did not show its true colors until season two. As Fallout looks ahead to its comeback, it’s about time the series brought Roger Maxson to center stage. Hailed as the original founder of the army, Roger is begging for his own flashback as season Fallout three should explore how the U.S. Army Captain gathered his first followers. Originally, Roger fought against the Enclave when its plans for forced evolution were discovered, but his message was warped over the decades. Fallout is overdue to explore Roger’s true legacy, and season three would be the perfect place to do so as the Enclave are gunning to squash the man’s legacy for good.
Harold
If you think The Ghoul knows a lot about the Wasteland, just wait until the Fallout TV series brings Harold to the screen. There is no other character in the franchise like Harold, and we mean that in the best way. Having survived the Great War in a vault, Harold witnessed the Wasteland’s earliest years similar to Marcus. However, rather than being a Super Mutant, Harold was loaded with a strange FEV mutation that allows him to remain gentle and kind. Lucy and The Ghoul would be great foils for Harold as the mutant gives them key information about their quests.
Arcade Gannon
Fallout has made it very clear that season three will focus heavily on the Enclave. The power dynamics in the Wasteland are changing, so now would be a great time to bring Arcade Gannon into the picture. The doctor is a similar bridge to Lucy as the genius’ Enclave heritage connects him to very different worlds. As the son of an Enclave officer, Arcade brings a face to the feared group, and his rejection of Enclave ideology proves there is hope for its members. The doctor sees the bigger picture behind the Wasteland, and Arcade knows the Enclave doesn’t serve it in any way. So if Fallout wants to share that message in season three, Arcade is the perfect person to preach it.
Yes Man
While the Enclave and the Brotherhood of Steel continue their conflict, Fallout season three will also need to contend with New Vegas. The city is in total disarray after season two, making it the perfect time for Yes Man to show himself. The AI bot may seem innocent enough as he acts as Benny’s Securitron assistant, but there is more to the character than meets the eye. Incapable of saying no, Yes Man could dismantle Robert House’s grip on New Vegas with some unhinged planning, but the question remains who would partner with the AI to bring the city to its knees.
The King
The stakes in Fallout season three are looking very high. Some of the Wasteland’s top factions will assemble when the hit series returns, so fans are going to need a break at some point. When that time comes, Amazon would be silly to ignore The King and his goons. Situated in Freeside, The King runs a rough group of thugs who protect those who dare ditch Mr. House. Obsessed with Elvis Presley, The King is an absurd figure that vibes with the tone Fallout has built in its first two seasons. The gang leader may just be the coolest guy in the Mojave, so Fallout season three would be robbing fans by keeping The King under wraps.
