As the smartest dermatologists say: “The best sunscreen is the one you’ll actually wear.” They aren’t lying. According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, “most U.S. adults do not use sunscreen regularly, with only about 12 to 13.5 percent applying it daily.” One sunscreen I was recently introduced to, Lerinn Beauty’s ZincPure Sunmilk SPF 50 PA++++, is one I will not only use, but also recommend. Here’s my honest review.
The Benefits of This Mineral Sunscreen
One thing that sets this broad-spectrum formula apart from other sunscreens is that it was designed for sensitive skin. (Founder Serrina Lin is a formulation scientist and worked tirelessly to get it right.) Dermatologists typically recommend mineral sunscreens, which sit on the skin’s surface (rather than being absorbed like chemical sunscreens), for those with sensitivities, and this is a great option. It’s also fragrance-free and safe to use after in-office procedures like peels, microneedling and lasers.
Key ingredients, aside from 10-percent, non-nano zinc oxide, include plankton extract, niacinamide, ascorbyl palmitate (a stable derivative of vitamin C) and vitamin E. Incorporating these antioxidants into the formula was a smart decision, as antioxidants help shield the skin from free radicals and boosts the skin’s defense against UV damage.

I love the silky, milky texture, which blends into my skin seamlessly and leaves behind a dewy finish. I did not experience a white cast after massaging in the full recommended amount (I used the two-finger rule), but I also have light skin, so I cannot speak to the user experience on deeper skin tones.
I’ve worn ZincPure Sunmilk on its own and under makeup—both with no issues. I also wore it during a workout and it didn’t burn my eyes when I was sweating. The bottom line: I love that this SPF offers mineral protection in an elegant formula I actually want to wear.
