We are looking for a technically strong and detail-oriented Hardware Diagnostics Specialist to support and analyze field returns, defective units, and customer-reported issues. The ideal candidate will work closely with customer support, quality, and engineering teams to carry out root cause analysis (RCA), component-level debugging, and design feedback for improving EV charger hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics & Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct detailed hardware diagnostics of returned or failed EV chargers. Identify root causes for failures across components, boards, and system-level performance.
  • Failure Replication & Testing: Recreate customer-reported issues using lab equipment. Validate hardware functionality under simulated conditions and power cycles.
  • Component-Level Debugging: Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and diagnostic tools to debug PCBs, power modules, and embedded controllers.
  • Documentation: Log all findings in structured diagnostic reports. Maintain a failure database to track trends and common issues.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with hardware design, firmware, and product teams to share diagnostic insights and suggest design or manufacturing improvements.
  • Corrective Action Support: Support implementation of CAPA processes, and provide feedback to quality and production teams for process improvements.
  • Customer Feedback Loop: Translate technical root cause findings into actionable feedback for customer-facing teams to communicate resolutions effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or similar field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in hardware testing, debugging, or repair—preferably in EV, power electronics, or IoT industries.
  • Strong experience with lab tools like oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and test jigs.
  • Ability to analyze PCB schematics, interpret firmware logs, and perform board rework/soldering.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, RS485, and Ethernet.
  • Understanding of high-voltage safety practices.
  • Good documentation and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in lab/field environments as required.
