After the launch of the Redmi Note 15 series, Xiaomi is expected to move on and update its budget lineup. The new models will come as the Redmi 15, Redmi 15C, and Redmi 15R. You may be intrigued by the report of a Redmi 15, after all, we didn’t have a Redmi 14 last year. However, it seems that Xiaomi has just skipped the model and not scrapped the lineup – fortunately. The Redmi 15 is set to launch soon, continuing Xiaomi’s historic legacy in the budget lineup.
Redmi 15 Comes With a New Design and Three Rear Cameras
As is usually the case with new smartphone releases, this device is largely confirmed thanks to official-looking renders that depict its design. A couple of images emerged on X thanks to a tipster, and as we’ve said before, they look like official renders that will be used in marketing materials. They show the device’s front with thinner bezels compared to the Redmi 13. However, it’s hard to confirm this just by looking at renders. The phone continues with the punch-hole cutout design that has been the typical design for smartphones nowadays.
Three images show the Redmi 15 in three colors – Black, Purple, and Gold. These probably are the starting color options for the model; we won’t discard future additions to the lineup. Interestingly, the camera design aligns with the current Redmi Note 15 series. This consists in a rectangular camera island with vertically aligned camera sensors. It’s a sober design if we look at the past, when Xiaomi tried multiple designs with big and fancy cameras.
There are three sensors on the back. We believe it’s the usual budget combo with a main camera, an ultrawide, and a macro snapper. If that’s the case, then it will be an upgrade over the Redmi 13 that has a 108 MP camera and a 2 MP macro shooter. However, let’s not set things in stone just yet. It’s common for some brands to invest in a capable main camera to bring additional modules just to make numbers. The Redmi 15 could bring just a macro and depth helper.
More Upgrades On The Way
Considering previous leaks, the Redmi 15 will be a substantial upgrade over its predecessor. It will improve display, battery, chipset, and camera departments. The Redmi 13 had a Helio G91 Ultra processor with 4G connectivity. We also had a 5G variant, so it seems that the brand will keep the same strategy in the newer model.
