2025 has been full of pleasant surprises, at least as far as consumer tech is concerned. Take for example Google’s big reveal today, which finally brings interoperability between Quick Share and Airdrop, allowing Pixel and iPhone users to more seamlessly transfer files to and fro. Part of Google’s official announcement reads:
We built this with security at its core, protecting your data with strong safeguards that were tested by independent security experts. It’s just one more way we’re bringing better compatibility that people are asking for between operating systems, following our work on RCS and unknown tracker alerts.
Unlike other file-sharing solutions for Android and iOS which often require workarounds or third-party apps, Quick Share will be able to connect directly and send files to iOS devices with Airdrop, eliminating the need for cumbersome steps.

There’s a catch however—at the moment, the new update only works on Pixel 10-series devices, so users rocking an older model will not be able to use the feature just yet. That being said though, Google says that it is working on improving the experience, and plans to expand the feature to more Android devices in the future.
