With BYD going full-speed on its expansion plans for Western markets, it was only a matter of time before we’d see the company unveil more models outside of China. As such, the company recently announced that it was launching the Ti7, a new seven-seater SUV for buyers in the United Kingdom.
The Ti7 isn’t an entirely new car however, as it was made available for several regions prior to the UK. BYD says that the car will be the largest and most versatile model from its lineup, and is perfect for large families and owners with active lifestyles. It is unsurprisingly large, measuring 16.88 feet long, 6.55 feet wide, and 6.12 feet tall, with a robust exterior featuring a rather boxy look that doesn’t sacrifice looks for utility.

Inside, the Ti7 fits three rows of seats in addition to a spacious compartment; it also comes with BYD’s Dual Mode Performance (DM-p) plug-in hybrid powertrain, which is driven by two electric motors which run all four wheels. The car is also built with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which on paper allows a 0-62mph time of 4.8 seconds in addition to an electric combined range of up to 79 miles.
With all that being said, BYD hasn’t revealed everything about the car just yet although it promises to release more information (such as pricing and in-depth specifications) in the weeks to come.
