Bethesda is finally adding a much-requested feature to the console version of Fallout 4 as Fallout 4 Creations gets a storage boost.
It has been confirmed by Bethesda that there will be an increase in storage for the Fallout 4 Creations mods on May 27, 2026, for current-gen versions of the game. So you’ll have more space for downloading modded content from the integrated service.
In a message from Bethesda, the developer writes, “We’re excited to share the Fallout 4 Creations storage expansion will arrive for consoles on May 27th. Console players will soon have more space to download content, including larger, more ambitious Creations. This update will allow for Creations storage on Xbox Series X/S to be scalable up to 100GB. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox One will all have Creations storage increased from 1GB or 2GB, respectively, to approximately 15GB.”
Fallout 4 Creations Expansion for Consoles Brings Caveats
There’s a catch of sorts to this good news, as the developer warns players to prepare before the May 27 update:
“As a precaution, prior to this Fallout 4 update, we encourage players to log into your game save if you haven’t done so in a while OR manually save your load order by following the steps outlined in our article. Once your load order is saved, you’ll be able to re-download your entire Creations list at once post update.”
Handily, Bethesda lays out what you need to do ahead of the storage expansion in this notice. The expansion itself should come as part of a game update alongside other tweaks and fixes.
It will be a welcome addition to one of the best post-apocalyptic game series around.
