According to the two parties, the creation of the initiative will ‘help esports players and coaches unlock their full potential,’ alongside raising the standards across the wider FIFAe ecosystem. Since FIFA’s split with EA Sports, the body has hosted Football Manager, eFootball and Rocket League events.

The programme will feature an initiative created specifically for FIFA Member Associations. It aims to offer support for aspiring coaches, players, and nations looking to improve their esports projects.

Participants will complete a multi-week course containing tools and strategies to encourage team development and improve in-game performance. Those who complete the course will receive certification, which will appear on their FIFA.GG profiles.

“This initiative is a game-changer for both coaches and players,” said Francisco Cruz, former FIFA world champion and esports coach.

“Such an industry-leading programme underscores FIFA’s commitment to providing aspiring and experienced coaches with the tools and knowledge necessary to enhance performance, while fostering a healthier gaming environment.”

FIFAe In 2025

FIFAe has continued to establish itself as one of the biggest football esports circuits in the world, hosting a range of events in Rocket League, eFootball, and UFL.

Outside of event operations, the esports division launched an innovation challenge in February. The body is looking to collaborate with companies to develop a range of technology to track the biometric data of esports players and translate the data into graphics that appear on event broadcasts.

Coaching in esports continues to be a focus of many industry stakeholders. In February, Achieveminds Coaching officially launched, while January saw Razer reveal an AI-powered coaching project at this year’s CES.
