G2 Gozen, G2 Esports’ female VALORANT roster, has announced the departure of Mathilde ‘Nelo’ Beltoise.
This development is the latest of many roster moves G2 Gozen has undergone since the beginning of a turbulent 2025 Game Changers season.
- Karmine Corp wins VCT Game Changers EMEA Stage 2
- 2025 VCT EMEA Ascension and Game Changers Stage 3 Finals return to Berlin and Istanbul
- League of Legends Game Changers for women in EMEA is finally here
G2 Gozen was founded in 2021 following the reveal of VALORANT Game Changers (GC), the game’s esports circuit for women and other marginalised genders. Since then, Gozen has established itself as one of the top-performing GC teams within the EMEA region and globally.
The roster dominated every regional GC competition until 2024 and made history by becoming the first GC Champions in 2022.
However, during the following Championships in 2023 and 2024, G2 Gozen only reached third place. Additionally, the squad has faced increasingly strong regional competition and failed to maintain its winning streak throughout this year’s Stage 1 and 2 events.
This has prompted the team to make various roster changes in an attempt to reclaim its dominant position in EMEA.
G2 Gozen Rostermania
Nelo joined Gozen ahead of the 2025 season after the departure of Eda ‘rezq’ Akçocuk on January 7th. Starting her VALORANT esports career with GangsterzZ, the French player had previously competed for Karmine Corp GC.
Claiming only third place in Stage 1, G2 reshuffled role assignments within the roster, leading to the signing of a new duelist player, Esllene ‘Akita’ Xu, and the benching of veteran member Petra ‘Petra’ Stoker.
As these adjustments did not result in a Stage 2 win, G2 Gozen returned to its previous role assignments with Petra on the active roster. This, however, left Nelo in an inactive position.
On her X account, Nelo commented on her time with the team coming to an end: “Short but intense, great memories with the team. Returning to our roots is important.”
Meanwhile, G2 Gozen is preparing for the final regional competition of the season, GC EMEA Stage 3, which is set to commence in October.
