Pixel devices and bugs are five and six. If it isn’t a battery drain issue, then it’s slow charging or camera glitches. The recent one has the battery drain bug that users were hoping would be fixed with the May 2026 update. The update is here, and nothing has changed.

The issue started right after the March update rolled out. It’s currently affecting the Pixel 7 down to the current Pixel 10 series.

Google Pixel users complain of the battery drain bug, again, despite the May update rollout.

The May Pixel update doesn’t fix the battery drain bug

The May update doesn’t completely fix the battery drain issue that users are dealing with, but it does fix a battery bug. It’s a tiny fix for wireless charging that’s easy to go unnoticed. The bug makes wireless charging slow to a crawl when the phone’s battery gets to between 75% and 80%. It’s not a big problem since it’s more manageable than an annoying battery drain.

There’s no news from Google regarding when it plans to fix the battery drain bug. Pixel users can only wait until then. To work around the issue, users can use a MagSafe-compatible power bank on the back of their phone to counteract battery drain. It doesn’t fix the problem, but it makes it manageable.
