Bengaluru, Karnataka – Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and the Hindu Rashtra Samanvaya Samiti have raised a strong demand to cancel an upcoming event titled “Umar Khalid and His World.” The event, scheduled to take place at the Bangalore International Centre, has faced heavy criticism for trying to glorify a person accused of serious crimes against the country.

Both organisations have submitted formal complaints to the authorities. They stated that Umar Khalid is not a hero and should not be celebrated. Their main concerns are:
-
- Umar Khalid has been in jail for 6 years under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities Prevention Act), a law used for those accused of threatening national security.
- He is a key accused in the Delhi riots case. These riots led to the deaths of 56 innocent people, including brave police personnel and security officers.
- Holding an event to glorify such a person is unacceptable.
