Honor tests an 11,000mAh battery for a future device (US)

The first smartphones to launch with 10,000mAh batteries were Honor Win and Win RT. After that, the Honor Power 2 arrived, featuring a somewhat larger 10,080mAh unit.

However, a new leak has revealed the company is working on an bigger battery for an upcoming device. Tipster Digital Chat Station states that Honor has started trial production of a new battery with a rated capacity of 10,690mAh as well as a rated energy of 40.41Wh.

Consequently, it’s expected to feature a capacity of 11,000mAh or even higher. Though the details of the device weren’t revealed by the tipster, the battery is likely to launch in the successor to the Power2.

Additionally, the Honor Power2 comes with a 10,080mAh Si/C battery that’s said to feature over 20 hours of video playback. Moreso, it supports 80W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging. This, no doubt, makes it more like a power bank. The upcoming Honor X80 is also rumoured to pack a 10,000mAh battery.
