Right at the end of last year, Honor introduced the “Play” series in China with an entry-level 5G phone, the Play 60A. Now a nearly identical device has appeared in a store in the United Arab Emirates as the X6d. And that’s not the end of the story.
The Honor X6d is very similar to the Play 60A – the main difference is the upgraded 50MP f/2.0 camera (the 60A only has a 13MP f/2.2 camera). It’s still the only lens on the back and it still tops out at 1080p @ 30fps video recording, but it is an upgrade. The 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera is the same.
The other spec that shows up as different is the 5,260mAh battery instead of 5,300mAh. The difference is so small that it might actually be the same battery with a different capacity label. The rest is pretty much the same.
Honor X6d
The Honor X6d is powered by a Dimensity 6300, a basic 6nm chip whose best quality is its 5G modem (and, well, its price). It’s hooked up to 4GB of RAM and 256GB storage (there’s no word on expandability). The phone runs Android 15 out of the box, doubtless with MagicOS on top.
The phone has a 6.75” LCD on the front with 720p+ resolution. We already covered the selfie camera. The specs listed on the store don’t mention a fingerprint reader, but if there is one, it will be on the side.
This is a dual-SIM phone, by the way, but other details like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and so on are not mentioned. For what it’s worth, the Play 60A has Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX HD, but it lacks NFC.
The Honor X6d is listed at AED 509. This converts to $138, €116 and ₹12,555. The store has two color options available, Midnight Black and Ocean Cyan.

But hold on – a recent certification by the GCF showed that the X6d has a model number of NLA-NX1. That same model number is assigned to another name, Honor 500 Smart.
There are a couple of Honor 500 models already available in China with iPhone Air-like design and massive batteries (we’re talking 8,000mAh cells here). The Honor X6d or 500 Pro doesn’t fit the bill on either count.
