MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16th Apr, 2026) The alleged kidnapping of a baby girl turned out to be a staged drama after police arrested the child’s brother for orchestrating the incident, officials said.
Police said the case surfaced at Chak No. 137, Jahanian a few days ago when a family approached the police station to register an FIR against their rivals, alleging that their baby girl had been kidnapped.
Acting on the complaint, police from six police stations launched an investigation and set up a camp in the area.
After a marathon investigation, the accused, identified as Umar, was arrested from Shikarpur along with his minor sister. The baby girl was safely recovered and handed over to her family.
Police registered a case against the accused and other family members for staging the kidnapping and misleading law-enforcement agencies.
