South Korean company KRAFTON has acquired Eleventh Hour Games, the developer of Last Epoch.
In a statement, the game director and founder of the company, Judd Cobler, explained that the studio has over 100 people working on the title right now and has been looking for a potential partner for the last year.
“Today I’m excited to announce that Eleventh Hour Games is joining KRAFTON, the powerhouse behind PUBG, who shares our passion for the action ARPG genre and is ready to help fuel our efforts in raising Last Epoch to new heights. With this partnership we will have the opportunity and resources to execute on our goal of creating the very best ARPG in the genre,” Cobler wrote.
KRAFTON seemed to have been the best option out of “dozens” of potential options: “KRAFTON clearly demonstrated that they’re aligned in helping us achieve our goals and can both enable and guide us through some of the largest upcoming challenges we’ll face as a studio. This partnership will allow us to deliver things we’ve only dreamed of previously and I’m excited to share details on those at a later date.”
The acquisition seems to go hand in hand with expansion: According to the game director, the studio will be looking to hire people for “many roles in the near future.”
Last Epoch, a fantasy ARPG, was released in 2024 and managed to reach over 264,000 concurrent users at its peak. These days, the game hovers between 3,000 to 4,000 users during its daily peaks.
