One UI 8.5, Samsung’s current operating system, is gradually rolling out to Galaxy devices. While that’s happening, there have been leaks of One UI 9. A new One UI 9 leak reveals details of a new Samsung AI-powered “Driving Insights” app.

One UI 9 leak reveals a Driving Insights app that's basically your driving coach.

Samsung’s Driving Insights app will use AI to show your driving habits

Leaked One UI 9 builds show that Samsung is working on a Driving Insights app for its devices. The app helps you see your habits and patterns at a glance so you can build better driving habits. It will be able to track how fast you accelerate and how sharply you turn.

The app also tracks your precise location and uses AI to provide you with feedback about your perceived driving patterns. It will generate weekly, personalised summaries to coach you on your driving, with statements like, “This week, you drove in a defensive style. Steady and cautious —keep it up!” or “This week, your driving had a dynamic pattern. Try to keep speed and steering smooth for consistency.” The weekly reports will be delivered in Samsung’s Now Brief.

To track your driving, how you speed or brake, the app/One UI might use the sensors on your phone. The app will automatically start once your phone connects to your car’s Bluetooth. You’ll also be able to review past trips and filter them by time or distance.

If having an autonomous vehicle wasn’t enough, Samsung is giving you an AI companion during drives in the form of a driving coach. Driving involves safety risks, and AI can be unpredictable sometimes. We’ll get to know more about this when One UI 9 debuts on Samsung’s next-generation foldables in the coming months.
