The Wide Fold is rumoured to feature a 4:3 aspect ratio display, making it a better option for watching landscape videos and multitasking than the more square-like screen of the standard Fold 8.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 was recently spotted in One UI 9, alongside the Wide Fold or Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. Sketches of the back design of both devices were shown. This time around, there are images of the front design of the Wide Fold.

One UI 9 leak reveals the front design of Samsung’s Wide Fold
The Cipher Project spotted the images. The front view of the Wide Fold in both folded and unfolded forms can be seen in both light and dark variations.

These sketches spotted in early One UI 9 builds give an idea of what the final product will be. From the images, it can be seen how the Wide Fold compares to the Galaxy Z Fold 8. While the Galaxy Z Fold 8 comes with a near 1:1 display aspect ratio, the Wide Fold will offer a 4:3 display aspect ratio, based on what we know thus far.
The black bars will be notably thinner for the Wide Fold, making it great for running 2 or more apps side-by-side. The Wide Fold will feature two cameras on the back, not three like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has. It will also launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in July.
