Patriot Antenna Series To Simplify Fleet Connectivity

Taoglas has launched its Patriot antenna series, a rugged, compact roof-mount solution combining up to 18 advanced antenna elements in a single low-profile housing. Designed specifically for connected vehicle fleets, it targets emergency services, utilities, and commercial operators. Originally developed for Ford Interceptor vehicles, the Patriot replaces existing OEM antennas without additional drilling, maintaining original functions while upgrading connectivity.

The key features are:

  • Dimensions: 60 mm x 205 mm x 180 mm
  • Cables: GNSS: RG-174 and Wi-Fi/Cellular: TGC-1.5DS
  • Connectors: SMA (Male) for GNSS and Cellular and RP-SMA (Male) for Wi-Fi
  • Frequency Support: 5G/4G Cellular: 600–6000 MHz

The Patriot supports multi-network connectivity including 5G/4G cellular (600–6000 MHz), dual-band GNSS (L1, L5), secondary GNSS (L1), Wi-Fi (2.4, 5.8, 7.1 GHz), SDARS (2.3 GHz), and LMR/TETRA (380–400 MHz, 700–900 MHz). An optional whip element offers full P25 VHF/UHF/700–900 MHz support with length customization. Built on a modular, patent-pending platform, customers can choose configurations up to 18-in-1—tailored to operational needs while maintaining a consistent mechanical design.

This design dramatically reduces installation complexity and time, saving costs for public departments and eliminating the need for extra roof holes. Installers benefit from plug-and-play replacement, while agencies get a future-proof connectivity hub for mission-critical operations. The antenna’s rugged IK08 and IP69K-rated enclosure fits snugly between vehicle roof ribs, using existing OEM mounting holes. A custom foam gasket ensures a tight, waterproof, and RF-isolated seal against the curved surface.

This ensures weatherproof, secure, and aesthetically clean installation, with color-matching options for black, white, and more. The aerodynamic form reduces wind drag—ideal for high-speed responders.  Departments gain faster deployment, higher system reliability, and a cleaner vehicle profile. Custom cable types, lengths, and connectors further tailor integration to fleet needs. “Every second counts,” said Chris Friend, VP at Taoglas. “The Patriot simplifies antenna management, giving first responders and fleet managers a durable, high-performance solution that delivers—day in, day out.”
