Qatar’s PM-FM discusses bilateral ties, Pakistan-led US-Iran mediation efforts and regional de-escalation during separate phone calls with regional officials.
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a series of phone calls on Friday with senior officials from Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
Talks focused on bilateral relations and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing hostilities across the region.
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister spoke with Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
During the separate calls, Sheikh Mohammed reviewed ways to strengthen cooperation between Qatar and the three countries.
The discussions also focused on mediation efforts being facilitated by Pakistan between the United States and Iran, as regional actors continue to push for dialogue and diplomatic solutions to prevent further escalation.
According to statements released by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the officials exchanged views on coordinating efforts to support regional de-escalation initiatives and stressed the importance of addressing the root causes of crises through peaceful means.
Sheikh Mohammed underscored the importance of constructive engagement by all parties with ongoing mediation efforts to help achieve a sustainable agreement that promotes long-term regional stability.
