The FEI Group VII Finals 2026, organised by the Fédération Équestre Internationale, concluded on 18 April at the Longines Indoor Arena in Al Shaqab, marking the end of the Doha Tour season. The four-day event brought together top showjumping riders from across the GCC region and beyond.
More than 100 riders from nine countries took part across junior, youth, senior, and Under-25 categories, competing for a total prize fund of €318,000. The programme featured both team and individual events, with riders advancing through qualification rounds to reach the finals.
This year’s edition introduced the Under-25 category for the first time. Open to riders aged 16 to 25, it aims to support the transition from youth to senior competition, align with international competition standards, and contribute to global rankings.
Competition began with junior and youth classes before moving to team contests and higher‑level individual rounds. Jump heights rose steadily over the four days, starting at 110cm and reaching 145cm in the Under‑25 Grand Prix.
Qatar delivered a strong performance, particularly in the youth divisions. Team Qatar won the Children’s Team competition, finishing ahead of the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The host nation also placed second in the Young Riders Team event, with the UAE taking first place.
Qatari riders also secured notable individual results. Alya Al Khater led a home podium sweep in the Children Local Class, while Khalid Nasser Al Khater won the Junior Local Class. Mohammed Hamza Al Kuwari placed third in the CSICh A Individual Final.
Riders from the UAE and Saudi Arabia were also among the leading performers, especially in senior divisions and team events, highlighting the growing strength of showjumping across the region.
The final day featured individual finals across all categories, with overall standings determined by cumulative performances. The championship concluded with an official closing ceremony attended by Event Director Sheikh Talal bin Khalid Al Thani and FEI Group VII Chairman Sultan Mohammed Al Yahya, recognising the organisation of the event and regional cooperation.
The results reflected both the depth of talent within the host nation and the increasing competitiveness of riders across the region, with strong performances in youth and senior divisions pointing to a steadily developing future for the sport.
