With it being just over seven months until the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, fans are on tenterhooks, especially with the anticipation for the third trailer stronger than ever. After all, it has been almost a year since we received the most recent trailer, and with Rockstar Games not yet showing us gameplay in full, it is no wonder that many are worried that another major delay is just around the corner.
Now, in recent days, Rockstar has found itself back in deep water after it took to its official Twitter account to post an update. However, it was not the update any of us wanted. No, it was not the third GTA VI trailer, and no, it was not news of the elusive Red Dead Redemption 2 PlayStation 5 port.
Red Dead Redemption 2’s Online Mode Doesn’t Get Enough Love
Instead, it was a post to showcase the latest Community-Inspired outfit for Red Dead Online. Now, do not get me wrong. It is always heartwarming to see the community being able to showcase their talents and Rockstar giving them their well-deserved time in the spotlight, but Red Dead Online itself has become something of the studio’s unwanted child in recent years, with Rockstar preferring to focus on brand-new updates for Grand Theft Auto Online instead. Of course, we all know that the priority is Grand Theft Auto VI right now, but it would still be appreciated to see some new content head to Red Dead Redemption 2’s online component. However, with recent reports finding that Rockstar made over $5 billion in Shark Card earnings alone, it is perhaps no surprise that it has a favorite child.
GTA Online Remains The Apple Of Rockstar’s Eye
Nevertheless, it is still a shame to see Red Dead Online get left in the dust, and even more disappointing that any major social media post by Rockstar results in fans feeling disappointed. As such, many took to the comments of the latest post to share their thoughts.
“Me thinking this was going to be trailer 3,” one user shared. “Maybe not today, but someday…..” Another shared their disappointment in Red Dead Online‘s lack of content, adding, “Another month, another outfit. It’s 2026, and we’re still celebrating community outfits instead of getting a real DLC. How many “angler outfits” do we need before we get a single heist or a property to buy?”
With some thinking that Rockstar is just “mocking us” now, it seems as though that Grand Theft Auto VI trailer will have to blow fans away to make up for lost time, and perhaps a small Red Dead Online DLC will make the apology even smoother.
