Samsung has confirmed its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 9 in New York City. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are expected to headline the show, but a new Samsung teaser has sparked speculation that something even more ambitious might be on the way: a tri-fold foldable.
The company recently posted a playful video on social media to drum up excitement for the event. The teaser blends food metaphors with tech buzzwords, showing dumplings wrapped in phrases that describe the upcoming devices. While it’s clearly meant to promote the Galaxy Z series, a few specific details stand out.
The word “Ultra” pops up more than once. Samsung typically reserves that label for its most premium hardware, like the Galaxy S Ultra or Galaxy Tab Ultra lines. It hasn’t used that branding for foldables—at least, not yet. That’s fueling speculation that the long-rumored tri-fold device could finally make an appearance, even if it doesn’t launch until later this year.
The Samsung tri-fold teaser video also references a Coral Red color, expected for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, and hints at flagship-tier performance across the new lineup. All signs point to Samsung delivering a polished update for its core foldables, while keeping at least one surprise under wraps.
Rumors suggest the tri-fold may be shown off in July but won’t ship until October. That would mirror Samsung’s rollout strategy with the Galaxy S25 Edge earlier this year. If history repeats, the tri-fold could be teased next week and officially launched just in time for the holiday season.
