Publisher Microprose and developer Wield Interactive have announced that RTS sequel The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age is currently in development for PC.
Set during the Late Bronze Age Collapse, the title tasks us with leading a small group of survivors and ensuring they “hold their people together as everything around them begins to fall apart.”
The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age Announced
The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age launches with a narrative-driven campaign and deeper systems than its predecessor while blending traditional real-time strategy gameplay with “a survival-focused approach where instability and pressure shape every decision.”
The core of the experience is made up of familiar elements like gathering resources to expand and support our growing village and tactical combat. Food plays a central role, “sustaining population, supporting armies, and driving progression.”
The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age narrative campaign revolves around a series of handcrafted missions that explore the period and its challenges, including “drought, famine, failing trade routes, rising unrest, and the destabilizing arrival of the Sea Peoples.”
The sequel also launches with skirmish and multiplayer modes, the latter playable on dedicated servers, and several playable factions, like the Assyrians, Egyptians, Babylonians, and Hittites, each with its own unique units and play styles.
Furthermore, owners also get access to a set of tools that enable creating and sharing custom scenarios with other players.
The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age doesn’t have a release date at the moment, but is confirmed to arrive on PC, via Steam. You can get a glimpse of it in action in the trailer embedded below.
