There’s the possibility that the upcoming Galaxy S27 series will feature a mixture of Exynos and Snapdragon chips. This will depend on the model and the region.
According to reports, Qualcomm is preparing two high-end processors as in: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. They’re expected later in the year.

Consequently, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Gen 6 Pro will likely be made by TSMC, using 2nm technology. For the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, it comes with the model number SM8950, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro is identified as SM8975. The two feature two prime CPU cores, three high-performance cores, and three efficiency cores. Though the non-Pro version is likely to run at lower clock speeds.
Furthermore, the standard model includes 16MB of L2 cache and 6MB of system-level cache (SLC), while the Pro version is likely to feature 8MB of SLC. There’s the possibility the non-Pro variant will use the Adreno 845 GPU with six slices and 12MB of graphics cache. Meanwhile, the Pro model is likely to bring the Adreno 850 GPU, with up to 18MB of graphics cache.
Moreover, it’s expected that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro will support quad-channel 24-bit LPDDR6 or quad-channel 16-bit LPDDR5X memory. For the standard version, there’s the possibility it will support LPDDR5X RAM. But the two chips will use UFS 5.0 storage.
Moreso, it’s expected that the upcoming Snapdragon chips will feature integrated 5G modems, with support for sub-6GHz and mmWave networks. There are still other features like: Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and USB Type-C data transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps.
It’s worthy to note that, except in Canada, China and the US, the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are likely to use the 2nm Exynos 2700 chip in most markets. In those regions, they’re likely to feature either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 or the Pro variant. For the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, they’re believed to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro worldwide.
Additionally, some reports came, as regards Samsung Foundry making at least some Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chips. Well, every detail will unfold as foundry Qualcomm eventually uses its upcoming high-end Snapdragon chips.
