In 2025, WhatsApp‘s beta version of the app pointed to an upcoming design overhaul, in line with the Liquid Glass design language that Apple introduced with its most recent iOS. There have been small but noticeable UI elements being redesigned along with the main chat screen.

A new report from WABetaInfo states that WhatsApp will soon release a redesigned in-chat interface. Normally, such changes would be available to beta users, but even they can’t try it. Instead, WABetaInfo managed to activate the new interface that includes a floating chat bar and a translucent navigation bar.
Meta’s approach to the release of this new design is quite relaxed without any excitement. Many users still haven’t received the redesigned UI elements. The full overhaul will take even longer to get to everyone. When the redesign is eventually complete, it will get to average users.
