Every year, Apple’s iPhone Pro signature color becomes one of the most talked-about things about the new phones. Last year it was Cosmic Orange, a massive hit especially in China. So naturally, everyone’s been wondering what Apple has cooking for the iPhone 18 Pro. A supply chain source speaking to Macworld now claims to have the answer, and the leaked iPhone 18 Pro colors are a bit of a surprise.
The four colors Apple is reportedly testing are Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Dark Gray, and Silver. Dark Cherry is the headline. It’s a deep, wine-toned red based on Pantone 6076, putting it much closer to burgundy than a bright red. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had previously reported Apple was testing a deep red finish for the 18 Pro. Now, Macworld’s leak appears to be reporting on that same color with more specificity. The shade is more muted than most people were picturing based on earlier “deep red” descriptions.

Alongside Dark Cherry, the lineup reportedly includes a Light Blue similar to the Mist Blue on the current base iPhone 17, plus a Dark Gray and a returning Silver. Notably absent: black. According to a separate Weibo leak from Instant Digital, black won’t be offered on the iPhone 18 Pro, marking the second consecutive year Apple has skipped the color many fans consider the most classic Pro option.
None of this is final. Macworld’s source is clear the colors are still in development, and Apple has time to make changes before mass production. Last year, the same source reported Apple was testing black and steel gray for the iPhone 17 Pro, and neither showed up on the actual product. At least some of these four could be cut before launch.
Beyond the new finishes, the overall design isn’t expected to change much this cycle. The bigger rumored upgrades include a variable aperture main camera and a smaller Dynamic Island. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected in September, while the base iPhone 18 is now pushed to early 2027.
