Industrial power systems are moving toward higher density and greater resilience, and a new generation of DIN rail power supplies from Delta aims to address both requirements simultaneously. The newly introduced industrial power supply portfolio combines compact dimensions with high efficiency and wider operating tolerances, targeting applications ranging from AI cooling infrastructure and semiconductor equipment to EV charging systems and factory automation.

The new product range follows a dual-track approach, with one line focused on premium performance and surge handling for demanding industrial workloads, while another targets efficient, cost-sensitive deployments. A key emphasis is reducing cabinet space requirements, with designs reportedly as narrow as 30 mm, enabling higher power density in increasingly crowded control environments.

The main features are:

  • Compact design with widths down to 30 mm
  • Up to 95% power conversion efficiency
  • Operates from -40°C in harsh environments
  • 150% short-duration power boost support
  • Supports wide AC and 400VDC input ranges

The performance-oriented series offers output capacities ranging from 120W to 960W and includes temporary power boost capability, delivering up to 150% additional power for several seconds. Such functionality is designed to handle transient loads such as motor startup currents without interrupting system operation. The devices also support 400VDC input, positioning them for emerging workloads including AI cooling distribution units and energy storage systems.

For thermal resilience, the new power supplies support operation in temperatures as low as -40°C and maintain full-load operation at elevated temperatures around 60°C. Compliance with industrial standards such as SEMI F47 aims to improve immunity against voltage disturbances commonly seen in manufacturing environments.

The efficiency-focused models meanwhile are designed for three-phase industrial environments and can achieve efficiency levels of up to 95%, helping lower energy losses and heat generation. Support for broad AC input ranges also enables deployment in facilities with fluctuating grid conditions or remote installations where power quality can vary significantly.

The launch reflects broader trends in industrial electronics where manufacturers are increasingly balancing compact form factors, thermal performance, and energy efficiency as automation, AI infrastructure, and smart manufacturing deployments expand.
