Despite low initial collections, the film’s impressive growth pattern has given it a fighting chance to cover ground and establish itself as a theatrical winner.
The film demonstrated a very strong jump on Saturday and then consolidated this momentum beautifully with another big jump on Sunday. What makes the Sunday growth even more remarkable is that smaller content films typically struggle on Sundays, and this particular Sunday had two big cricket matches competing for audience attention. Yet the film still managed to surge 35 percent higher on Sunday compared to Saturday.

It has managed to find its audience organically on Saturday and Sunday, suggesting that those who watched it actually liked what they saw.
The Road Ahead
The weekend trend gives The Taj Story a crucial chance. If Monday holds at Friday levels, the film will have a good run ahead. The target is to cross 10 crore nett in the first week, which would be decent. If this happens, the second week collections can actually be quite good, though everything depends on how the weekdays perform.
Baahubali The Epic Struggles
Meanwhile, Baahubali The Epic (Hindi) could not replicate similar success, collecting only 4 crore nett over the weekend. The film was banking on Saturday growth, but the jump did not materialize, and Sunday was not much better.
