The Bachelor alum Jade Roper is her family’s breadwinner — and she’s not shy about it.
“Wondering how yall can afford the remodel and huge property,” one fan asked Roper, 39, during an Instagram Q&A on Thursday, April 23, prompting the former reality star to share some details about her and Tanner Tolbert’s financial situation, without specific numbers.
“Mama makes the money in this house,” she replied. “But he’s really great at handling the finances and investing it for us. We make a good team.”
Tolbert and Roper became one of Bachelor Nation’s most successful couples after meeting on season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise in 2015. The pair got married the following year and have since expanded their family with daughter Emerson, 8, and sons Brooks, 6, and Reed, 5.
The couple have continued to share the highs and lows of their home life since leaving the reality TV space. Roper was particularly honest with fans in 2023 when she suffered a miscarriage.
“I’ve been struggling what to write here as I’ve been navigating a miscarriage,” she shared via Instagram at the time. “It felt like all my dreams were coming true to welcome another baby into our lives, to love and to complete our family. While our hearts are completely broken and we have been dealing with the deep and complex grief of the loss, we have been blessed to be touched by his soul or his short amount of time. I am forever changed.”
Roper revealed that they had plans to name the baby boy Beau.
“I’m currently experiencing what is called a missed miscarriage, so while his heart has stopped and he has stopped growing (for some time now), my body hasn’t released the pregnancy yet,” she continued. “I am hoping to do this naturally and am trusting in timing and in my body under the care of my provider.”

She and Tolbert have continued to mourn their son, sharing social media posts in his honor. She even believed they received a message from their late son this past holiday season when making the family Christmas card.
Roper posted an AI-generated family photo in December 2025, and there was a fourth child — a boy — in the image.
“It touched my heart, because of course Beau would want to make the family photo,” she wrote on social media at the time.
She asked ChatGPT to adjust the image and shared the new photo, writing, “Now, it just sort of feels empty.”
