Going forward, no Friday namaz at Bhojshala; only puja will be allowed
Dhar, Madhya Pradesh – On the first Friday after the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s verdict, a large number of Hindus gathered at Bhojshala, turning the complex into a site of continuous Hindu worship. This is the first time in 700 years that Friday namaz has not been offered at the site.
Instead of Islamic prayers, the premises resonated with chants of “Jai Siyaram” as devotees gathered from early morning. As per the High Court order, permission to offer namaz inside the mosque located within the Bhojshala premises has been withdrawn. Consequently, Muslims were unable to perform Friday namaz.

Continuous puja by Hindus
From the very next day after the verdict, Hindus have been conducting puja non-stop at Bhojshala. Since the morning of 22 May, large numbers of devotees from Dhar and surrounding districts have been visiting the temple for darshan and puja. Aarti of Devi Vagdevi (Saraswati) was also performed with devotion.
For many years, a shared arrangement had been in place – Hindus performed puja at Bhojshala on Tuesdays, while Muslims were allowed to offer namaz on Fridays.
BJP MLA visits Bhojshala
BJP MLA Neena Verma also visited Bhojshala, took darshan of the oil painting of Shri Vagdevi, and performed puja. She sought blessings by touching the feet of senior Bhojshala movement activist Vimal Godha. On the occasion, she also participated in bhajan-kirtan with devotional groups.
