Johnny Bananas Supports Spencer Pratt in L.A. Mayor Race

Johnny Bananas Throws Support Behind Spencer Pratt in LA Mayor Race

The Challenge’s Johnny Bananas is throwing his support behind Spencer Pratt as The Hills alum continues his bid to be elected the mayor of Los Angeles.

Taking to social media on Thursday, April 30, the reality star (real name Johnny Devenanzio) gave his stamp of approval to Pratt in the election race.

“That’s my mayor 🤘” Devenanzio, 43, wrote via X, sharing Pratt’s latest campaign ad.

In the controversial ad released on Wednesday, April 29, Pratt, 42, visited the homes of two of his opponents — L.A. City Councilwoman Nithya Raman and current Mayor Karen Bass.

He then compared their seemingly affluent dwellings to his own, more modest living situation – a trailer that he shares with his wife Heidi Montag and their two children. The family have been living in the trailer since their home burned down in the 2025 Palisades Fire.

“This is where Mayor Bass lives. Notice something? Or here, where Nithya Raman’s $3 million mansion sits,” Pratt said in the ad. “They don’t have to live in the mess they’ve created.”

The commercial showed Pratt standing outside his trailer while promising to bring back the “golden age of Los Angeles.”

“This is where I live. They let my home burn down,” he said. “I know what the consequences of failed leadership are. That’s why I’m running for mayor, for my sons and the rest of us Angelenos who want to stop these corrupt politicians from destroying our city. We are going to get the golden age of Los Angeles back.”

Pratt announced his political candidacy in January, one year after the Palisades fires that devastated California.

“The system in Los Angeles isn’t struggling, it’s fundamentally broken,” Pratt said at the “They Let Us Burn” public demonstration on January 7. “It is a machine designed to protect the people at the top and the friends they exchange favors with while the rest of us drown in toxic smoke and ash. Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles, and I’m done waiting for someone to take real action.”

Pratt continued, “That’s why I am running for mayor. And let me be clear, this just isn’t a campaign, this is a mission, and we’re gonna expose the system.”

Wildfires continue to tear through the Los Angeles area, devastating thousands of acres and forcing even more people to flee their homes. As relief efforts are just getting underway, some of Hollywood’s most prominent stars are coming together to help those in need. The Eaton and Pacific Palisades fires, which are burning concurrently, are already […]

Johnny Bananas isn’t the only famous face to endorse Pratt during his bid to become mayor.

He has also received support from Joe Rogan, The Hills costar Kristin Cavallari, podcaster Nick Viall and more.

While The Hills star has his supporters, his sister Stephanie Pratt has taken the opposite perspective and urged people not to vote for her sibling.

Despite applauding his advocacy effort following the deadly 2026 wildfires, Stephanie said in February that she doesn’t think voting her brother in as mayor is a good idea.

“Spencer has done great work for the Palisades. But LA does not need another unqualified and inexperienced mayor,” Stephanie, 40, wrote via X on February 14. She added, “A vote for him is a vote for stupidity.”
