LAHORE, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 23rd May, 2026) The Higher Education Department of Punjab has made important progress for the appointment of permanent chairmen in 9 education boards of the province, including Lahore, and has sent the summary to the Chief Minister of Punjab for approval.
According to sources, the Names of 18 candidates have been sent for the nine education boards, while a panel of two candidates has been prepared for each board.
Officials say that after the initial scrutiny, interviews of 254 candidates were completed, after which the names of the shortlisted candidates were sent for approval.
Sources said that candidates from outside Lahore have also been shortlisted for the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore, while the names of university cadre officers and teachers are also included in the list.
The final appointments will be made after the approval of the Punjab Chief Minister.
Sources said that for the last two years, there have been no permanent chairmen appointed in various education boards, including Lahore, but the new appointments are expected to improve administrative matters.
